Wiki Techstorm 2019

Learn more about the technology behind Wiki projects!

On 22 and 23 November the Wiki Techstorm 2019 will take place in Stayokay in Amsterdam East. During this 2-day international event, participants can learn more about the software of various Wiki projects including Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikipedia. In addition, the possibilities of Linked Open Data will be discussed in more detail.

Program

The Wiki Techstorm offers a very varied program packed with (in-depth) workshops, DIY-sessions and expert sessions. Read more about the program of the Wiki Techstorm.

For whom?

  • Novice or experienced developers with an interest in Wiki projects*
  • Experienced Wikimedians who want to learn (more) about the technique behind Wiki projects
  • Data specialists, information specialists and digital collection managers working in the heritage sector and/or the library sector who would like to learn (more) about sharing collections via Wiki projects.

* To participate, you do not have to be an ICT genius. We are looking for women, men and gender-diverse people with an interest in ICT at all levels of experience. Are you interested in this work and can you work with spreadsheets (e.g. LibreOffice Calc), or do you learn and work in other areas with databases or software? Do not hesitate to register and indicate where your interest lies.

Location

Stayokay Amsterdam Oost is located in the Zeeburg district of Amsterdam, only 15 minutes by bike or tram from the heart of the city. The location is easy to reach and has several facilities. If you come by car, please note that there is no free parking in the vicinity of the hostel. Are you staying overnight? Then first read this.
